Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to invite you all to Dhaka to the SOUTH ASIA MOBILE SUMMIT to be held in Radisson Water Garden in October.

The South Asia Mobile Forum intends to create a platform so that the stakeholders of the telecommunication sector of this region get an opportunity to freely interact with each other and express each others’ interests. We want to boost further the telecommunication sector of this region that has grown so dynamically in spite of changes and diversities in the business environment. To ensure this healthy growth and keep the momentum, the Forum intends to create an information exchange hub that will benefit all the value chain players.

With this objective, the South Asia Mobile Forum intends to organize events and seminars and promote activities that can play a key role in giving the telecommunication sector of this region a new horizon. We want to play a role in developing the role of telecommunication in people’s lives and help them change their future. We want to help telecommunication companies break all barriers and provide a wider array of products and services. We hope to see regulators understand better the needs and requirements of companies. We want distributors, Global Telecommunication Infra Structure Manufacturers, Careers, Applications Development Companies; and BPO companies to also get the unique opportunity to present their appropriate products and services to the market of potentiality and possibilities.

The South Asia Mobile Summit is going to be a grand platform for all the South Asian Telecom stakeholders to share their knowledge and broaden their horizon. It will also allow our sponsors to showcase their offerings and create new business scope. It aims to bring together under one roof, leading industry players to share their thoughts and experiences on the South Asian landscape. The event will provide an excellent platform for both local and regional operators to meet, network and exchange information through dialogue on the latest trends, technological developments and business opportunities surfacing in the region.

That SAMF will help understand the needs of the operators and other stake holders and take it to the Regulators of the region for better understanding and smooth development of the sector. At the same time, it will also understand the points of view of the Regulators and explain the needs of the Regulators to the Operators and other stake holders. It will also encourage participation of the Regulatory Body and its members are various events and forums for building a harmonious relationship and of better understanding. SAMF will also engage in hosting work-shops for the Regulators only for sharing the best practices.

Let us work together to successfully accomplish the objective of the forum: to change the landscape of telecommunication in South Asia and set the right path for all so that the sector continues to grow. We can only hope that this summit and the up-coming ones will contribute to a long term growth of the sector as well as induce a healthy competitive environment imperative for growth.
